KONRAD NASZYNSKI 22CANS PC
Successfully funded on Kickstarter back in December 2012, Godus has since been available on Steam Early Access for PC and on mobile devices. The troubled tale of Godus may well be turning its final pages, as second-hand reports suggest lead designer Konrad ‘FuriousMoo’ Naszynsk i has been made redundant by Peter Molyneux’s 22cans. Rock, Paper, Shotgun also reports that many of its promised rewards and features have not yet been fulfilled, questions whether or not Peter Molyneux's recent announcement of a new game project means he's moved on from Godus, and even points to an interview during which Molyneux discusses the "overwhelming urge to over-promise" to ensure the success of a Kickstarter campaign. The God sim was originally slated to fully release a few months after its crowdfunding campaign, but currently remains in Early Access on Steam. Many on Reddit have begun to voice their frustrations with Godus' development, voicing general frustrations with its progress and content. That doesn't prevent some PC players from feeling completely alienated, however. If that's the case I'm just going to state that outright when the time comes," he said.Ĭoncerns aside, Naszynski claims to be " cautiously optimistic" as the team begins to retool their focus to implement new features in the game influenced by community feedback, publisher demands, Kickstarter promises, and his own desires for Godus. "It's going to be a juggling act and I'm betting a lot of my PC only proposals are going to be shot down and there will be things I will be told to work on that won't contribute to improving PC. However, it prevents him from implementing the systems in Godus he wants to see. A decision that makes sense, he explained, since mobile generates more revenue than its PC counterpart. According to him, the development team behind Godus is placing more emphasis on the mobile version over the PC.
KONRAD NASZYNSKI 22CANS PRO
"To be brutally candid and realistic I simply can't see us delivering all the features promised on the Kickstarter page," he said, adding that multiplayer "is looking seriously shaky right now."Īfter working on Godus pro bono for over a year, Naszynski was recently added to the core design team. The widespread skepticism of the game was encouraged by, among other things, a disheartened forum post from new lead designer (and former incensed community member) Konrad Naszynski on January 10.
